meet your candidate for the alkham & capel-Le-Ferne by election, martin hibbert

I have lived with my family in Alkham for 39 years, born in Dover with grandparents that lived in Abbey Cottages and at Temple Ewell, as well as relatives that lived on the Minnis.

I was a Dover Port Manager for over thirty years, and had charge of diverse port operations as well as a government health and safety advisor for eleven years. In both careers listening skills coupled with “getting things done” were paramount.

Now retired, as Vice Chairman of Alkham Parish Council, I have been active in championing a whole range of diverse concerns on behalf of the local communities. Listening to people from across all backgrounds within our community and ensuring that their voices are effectively heard.

I believe that even more can be achieved if we all work more collaboratively together to help build and develop stronger councils, whose prime role will be to fully understand the needs and views of their communities and help deliver them.

Much has already been done, but it is still work in progress!
