Dover District Council has fallen to no overall control following the defection of a Labour councillor to the Conservatives.

Charles Woodgate had been a Labour Party member for 30 years when he quit to join the Conservatives.

Charles, who represents Aylesham, Eythorne & Shepherdswell, was welcomed to the Conservative group on Dover District Council by Conservative Group Leader Trevor Bartlett.
